Gianni Bugno was a very versatile rider who managed to become the world champion on two consecutive occasions (1991 and 1992). Additionally, Bugno won the Giro d'Italia in 1990, Milano-Sanremo in 1990, Ronde Van Vlaanderen in 1994, and the Italian road championship in 1991 and 1995. However, Bugno may go down in history for being one of the main rivals of Miguel Indurain in the early Tours of the Spanish cyclist.
