100
The German telephone company Deutsche Telekom entered in 1991 as the main sponsor of the Stuttgart-Merckx-Gonsor team, formed a couple of years earlier. The team was characterized by signing the leading German cyclists of the time, and was one of the strongest teams of the 1990s and 2000s. Jan Ulrich won the Tour de France for the team in 1997, but perhaps he will be more remembered as one of the great aspirants in history, as he was the second in the Tour de France up to 5 times.
Jan Ullrich (1995-2006)
