One for the sprinters

If we take a look at the Eschborn-Frankfurt’s profile we see that it has more than 2,600 vertical meters, but let's not be fooled: this is a race for sprinters. The main difficulty is Feldberg (11 km at 4.8%), but it is climbed at the beginning of the race and usually has no influence on the final outcome. Of course, the race is tough and only sprinters who can handle some climbing will be able to be in position to fight for victory.

Favorites

In 2020 the race was not held due to the global health crisis, but both Pascal Ackermann (1000) in 2019 and Alexander Kristoff (800) in 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2014 won the sprint outcome. His 4 victories confirm that for Kristoff this is a fetish race, as it perfectly suits his characteristics.

Other candidates for victory are Jasper Philipsen (1200), Mads Pedersen (600), Michael Matthews (800), Bryan Coquard (600), John Degenkolb (600), André Greipel (400) Mike Teunissen (400), Christophe Laporte ( 400), Kristoffer Halvorsen (600) or Sonny Colbrelli (800), who will wear the European champion jersey obtained a week ago in Trento.
