Burgos closes out the Spanish May
In the Women’s WorldTour, the month of May is closely tied to Spain, as the only three top-tier races of world cycling held in the country take place during this month. After La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es and the Itzulia Women, it's now the turn of the Vuelta a Burgos Féminas, which wraps up the trio of competitions with four exciting stages.
Route
Of the four stages that make up the race, the third — finishing at Picón Blanco (8.2 km at 9.1%) — and the last — a 9.5 km individual time trial — are expected to be decisive for the general classification.
Favorites
Two days before the start of the race, the start list is still in its early stages, with fewer than 60 riders pre-registered, making it difficult to identify clear favorites. Even so, top riders like Lotte Kopecky (1200), Elisa Longo Borghini (1200), Elisa Balsamo (1200), Marlen Reusser (1000), Gaia Realini (1000), Shirin Van Anrooij (800), Antonia Niedermaier (600), Ricarda Bauernfeind (600), Zoe Bäckstedt (600), Ruby Roseman-Gannon (600), Letizia Borghesi (600), and Alison Jackson (200) already stand out on the start list.
