Astana Pro Team is a team sponsored by the Astana group, a coalition of state-owned enterprises in Kazakhstan and which bears the name of the country's capital until 2019, Astana. It acquired professional status from the UCI ProTour in its inaugural year in 2007. It was created from the base of the former Astana-Würth, which disappeared at the end of the 2006 season.
