In 1987, the French children's clothing brand Z became sponsor of the famous Peugeot team, which was renamed Z-Peugeot. Peugeot withdraws from professional cycling in 1989 and the formation is simply called team Z. In 1990, the team incorporates the world champion Greg LeMond, winner of the Tour de France of 1989. As in 1989, LeMond wins the 1990 Tour in the last day time trial, this time for team Z. Z is the main sponsor until 1993, when the team is renamed Gan, and finally in 1998 Crédit Agricole takes over until 2008, the year of the definitive dissolution of the team.
