5 Days in Germany
The Deutschland Tour is Germany's most important stage race, and it has been part of the UCI ProSeries since the creation of the circuit in 2020. Over 5 days, cyclists will compete for the leader’s red jersey in a race that, unlike last year, does not include any high mountain stages.
Route
The race starts with a 2.3 km individual time trial prologue that will determine the first race leader. The second and third stages feature hilly profiles and will be crucial for the general classification, even though they do not include big climbs. The fourth stage is categorized as flat by the organizers, but it accumulates over 2000 meters of positive elevation gain, and the finish line is placed on the top of a 1.3 km at 2.2% ramp. Finally, the last stage is completely flat and presents the most obvious opportunity for sprinters.
Favorites
Many teams are yet to confirm their lineups, but currently, climbers such as Adam Yates (1200), Pello Bilbao (1000), Jay Hindley (1000), Brandon McNulty (800), Illan Van Wilder (400), and even a classics specialist in great form like Mads Pedersen (1200) are the main contenders for the general classification.
