A classic waiting for a grand tour

From time to time, information appears that places a female version of le Tour de France for 2022, but in the meantime we have to conform with La Course by le Tour de France, a one-day classic that tries to take advantage of the Tour's showcase to make women's cycling visible.

This year's La Course will be held on the opening day of the Tour, in Nice. The profile shows us a 96-kilometer test, with 2 laps of a 48-km circuit that begins with two consecutive ascents (5.8 km at 5.1% and 6.70 km at 3.10%). After these two difficulties, the route is always downward to the finish line.

Annemiek van Vleuten (1200) and Marianne Vos (1200) start as the main favorites of a startlist with many of the top names of the female peloton such as Katarzyna Niewiadoma (1200), Amy Pieters (1000), Marta Bastianelli (1000), Elisa Longo Borghini (1000), Leah Thomas (800), Cecile Uttrup Ludwig (800) or Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (1000), among others.
