Last bullet before le Tour
Half overlapped with the Criterium du Dauphiné, the Tour de Suisse is presented as the last option to warm up before the Tour de France. Last year Richi Porte (800) took the victory, Jakob Fulgsang (1200) was second and Nairo Quintana (1200) completed the podium. This 2019, all three of them ara running the Critérium du Dauphiné, along with the majority of applicants to Tour’s GC.
3 days to start, without doubt Geraint Thomas (1200) is presented as the favoritissimo for the GC. Other men who will ride for the overall can be Enric Mas (1000), Pierre Latour (800), Patrick Konrad (1000), Rui Faria Da Costa (600), or Wilco Kelderman (1000).
Other important names of the pelotón who will also be in Switzerland to refine the form for le Tour are Peter Sagan (1200), Greg Van Avermaet (1200), Michael Matthews (1200), Fernado Gaviria (1000), Alexander Kristoff (1200), Patrick Bevin (1000), Stefan Küng (800), Matej Mohoric (800) and Tiesj Benoot (800), among others.
There will be 9 stages, that is, many CF points will be distributed. The route presents two individual time trials, two hilly stages, two flat days for sprinters and three mountain stages.
