The Tour of California arrives this Sunday to its 14th edition without making much noise in Europe, as the race will be played in the shadow of the first week of the Giro. It is the only World Tour event held in the United States, and will be attended by 12 teams of the highest world level.
The parcours consists of three flat stages, two mountain stages and two hilly stages, which can be solved in the breakaway or in a selected sprint.
Looking at the startlist, Tejay Van Garderen (800), Tadej Pogačar (600), Felix Großschartner (1000) and **George Bennett (1000)**are emerging as the main favorites for the GC, with eyes also looking to Richi Porte (800), Rohan Dennis (1200) and Zdeněk Štybar (800).
For fast finishes there is a good list of sprinters: Danny Van Poppel (1000), John Degenkolb (800), Peter Sagan (1200), Fabio Jakobsen (1000), Maximiliano Richeze (600), Marcel Kittel (800), Nacer Bouhanni (800) and Maximilian Walscheid (800) will take the start.
