The first great decision
Next week arrives Giro d'Italia, the first of the three Grand Tours. There are many points at stake in a single election, and the budget is limited. The decisive moment has arrived: nobody said Cycling Fantasy was easy.
A route with many alternatives
Three strategically placed ITT (one in the first stage and one in the last), five high mountain stages, seven stages with uphill final and six flat stages are some of the keys of a route that offers stages for everybody.
Who do you prefer, mom or dad?
At the moment, in the startlist there are 9 cyclists of 1200 credits. These are team leaders Tom Dumoulin (1200), Primoz Roglic (1200), Egan Bernal (1200), Simon Yates (1200), Miguel Angel Lopez (1200) and Ion Izagirre (1200), along with sprinters Elia Viviani (1200), Caleb Ewan (1200) and Pascal Ackermann (1200). At most, we can sign three of them in our team, and that renouncing any racer of 600, 800 or 1000 credits, which is a lot to renounce. Specially, taking into account that in the Italian round there will be cyclists like Mikel Landa (800) , Davide Formolo (800), Thomas De Gendt (1000), Vincenzo Nibali (800), Ilnur Zakarin (600), Rafal Majka (800), Bob Jungels (800) or Fernado Gaviria (1000), among many others.
As you can see, some cyclists have changed their price. This is due to the fact that, arriving at the mid-point of the season, prices have been updated, which are calculated with respect to the results in the World Tour during the last 12 months.
The 200 credits racers will be key
To complete our team, the choice of 200 credits cyclists that can do good performances will be very important. It is policy of the house not to give clues in this sense, but we invite you to immerse yourself in the statistics to find your own bargains. It is likely that the first users of the general have the same expensive racers, therefore, the 200s can make a difference. Sprinters of minor teams or stage hunters may be good choices.
Let’s make numbers
It is the first Giro celebrated in Cycling Fantasy, so there are no references from the previous year. To get an idea of the points we need to take the champion’s pink jersey, we have to look at the winners of the two Grand Tours disputed so far. @chrisfroome took the Tour de France with 1256 CF points, while @Jujuvelo took the Vuelta a España with 1394 CF points, that were determinant for the 2nd place overall he reached last season. Keep in mind that both records are from before points were distributed at the end of a stage competition, so to win the Giro it is likeable that more than 1500 points are needed. It will be necessary to use the calculator!
