The first stage race since COVID-19
Tour de Pologne will be the first WorldTour stage race after coronavirus crisis, and it looks like this edition will turnout more interesting than in previous years. The startlist is full of big names, as everybody needs preparation and there are few opportunities before Tour de France. Due to schedule changes, however, the race will see its 2020 edition reduced from 7 to 5 stages.
Jakob Fuglsang (1200), Richard Carapaz (1000), Wout Poels (800), Maximilian Schachmann (1200), Diego Ulissi (1000), Rafal Majka (1000), Simon Yates (1200), Wilco Kelderman (1000) or Jay Hindley (400) start with options to the General Classification, although they will have to deal with Remco Evenepoel (400). The young Belgian talent is unbeaten this 2020, where he already prevailed in Volta ao Algarve and Vuelta a San Juan.
Of the 5 stages, number 3 and 4 are designed to decide the general, while in 1, 2 and 5 a bunch sprint is expected. That’s why the startlist is full of fast men: Pascal Ackermann (1200 ), Dylan Groenewegen (1000), Fabio Jakobsen (1000), Jasper Philipsen (600), Jasper Stuyven (1000), Marc Sarreau (600) and Luka Megzec (600) will take the start, among other sprinters.
