A mini Paris - Roubaix debuts at the ProSeries
The Grand Prix de Denain - Porte du Hainaut takes place in the north of France, just 50 kilometers from Roubaix, and includes 10 cobbled sectors, so the smell of Paris-Roubaix is intense.
The race was upgraded to the ProSeries category in 2020, but unfortunately had to be suspended as a result of the COVID-19 health crisis. Thus, it will be in 2021 when the race finally joins the second category of the world’s cycling calendar.
Route
Although the cobbled sections are very reminiscent of Paris - Roubaix, there are only 10 of them for the 30 that the Monument includes. Plus, the 201 km rout also makes it more affordable, so it's clearly a scaled-down version of the show that will be displayed in two weeks.
Favorites
With only 3 days to go to the race, there are still many riders to sign in on the startlist, but for the moment Jasper Philipsen (1200), Christophe Laporte (400), Sep Vanmarcke (200), Thomas Pidcock (200), Taco Van Der Horn (200) and Niki Terpstra (200) stand out.
