A sprint in Münster overshadowed by Roubaix

Since its first edition in 2006, the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro has always been held on October 3. This year is no different and the race maintains the original date, although the notoriety of the event will be clearly affected by the change of dates of Paris - Roubaix, which coincides on the same day.

Route

187 kilometers with only 882 vertical meters means that it is a practically flat race, ideal for sprinters, although in this edition it presents a small change in the final part of the route: two kilometers from the finish line there is a slope of 0.7 km at 4.3%, although it is very possible that it is insufficient to break the peloton.

Favorites

The race is usually decided with a sprint royale in the streets of the German city of Münster.

Pascal Ackermann (1000) and Álvaro José Hodeg (400) are the main favorites of a startlist where Danny Van Poppel (600), Hugo Hofstetter (400) and André Greipel (400) also stand out.
