A Tour of Hainan in Spring
The Tour of Hainan is a Chinese race that traditionally took place in October. Last year, however, the race was moved to August, and in 2025, it is still searching for its place in the calendar, shifting to April. As a result, the race falls in the week between the Ronde Van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix and coincides with the Itzulia Basque Country.
Route
The race consists of five stages, of which three or four will likely end in a sprint. The general classification will be decided on the third stage, which features 3,300 meters of positive elevation gain.
Favorites
The start list is still in its early stages. XDS Astana Team is the only WorldTour team participating, alongside the continental teams Burgos-Burpelett BH, Euskaltel-Euskadi, Team Polti VisitMalta, and Team Solution Tech - Vini Fantini. The overall winner is expected to come from these squads. Given the numerous sprinting opportunities, it's also a good idea to stack our fantasy team with sprinters.
