Brittany hosts its .Pro weekend

This weekend, coinciding with the second and third stages of the Giro d’Italia, the French region of Brittany hosts two one-day races from the UCI ProSeries. These are the Grand Prix du Morbihan on Saturday, and the Tro-Bro Léon on Sunday. Two beautiful races that will delight those still craving spring classics.

 
Grand Prix du Morbihan: route and favorites

Saturday’s race totals 190 km and 2400 meters of positive elevation gain. After the first 66 kilometers, the riders will enter the first of two circuits around the town of Plumelec. The first circuit is 13.7 km long and will be completed 5 times, while the second is 7.8 km and will be raced 6 times. Therefore, the Côte de Cadoual (1.9 km at 5.7%), where the finish line is located, will have to be tackled 12 times.

Benoît Cosnefroy (400), Biniam Girmay (1000), Alex Aranburu (800), Alberto Bettiol (400), Mike Teunissen (400), Clément Venturini (200), Paul Penhoet (400), Paul Lapeira (200), Lorenzo Rota (200), Emilien Jeannière (400), Iván García Cortina (400), Milan Menten (400) and Bryan Coquard (800) are some of the most prominent riders.

 
Tro-Bro Léon: route and favorites

Tro-Bro Léon was born in 1984, and from the very first edition included dirt and cobbled roads. These are the famous ribinoù, the name given in Breton to these farm paths, which give the race a character that has earned it the nicknames “little Paris-Roubaix” or “Hell of the West.” In this edition, the number of ribinoù will be 29, for a total of 34.3 km on these irregular surfaces.
