Circuit Franco-Belge closes the Belgium 1.Pro trophy
The Circuit Franco-Belge (formerly Eurométropole Tour) is the last Belgian classic of the 2023 ProSeries. Therefore, with this race, which currently takes place entirely on Belgian soil, the Belgium 1.Pro combined classification will be concluded, awarding the 10 precious Atomium trophies to the top 10 users in Cycling Fantasy. This combined classification adds up all the points earned in Belgian one-day races that are part of the ProSeries, the second division of world cycling.
Route
The race has completely changed its route compared to last year's edition, and this time it features a hilly profile filled with climbs, covering a total distance of 191 km, of which the last 115 km are on a local circuit. The circuit is 23 kilometers long and includes 3 climbs: Col du Hortilin (1.7 km at 3.7%), Trieu-Knokteberg (1 km at 7.9%), and the finish line located at Mont-de-l’Enclus. Cyclists will have to complete 5 laps on the circuit.
Favorites
With the changes in the route, this edition of the race may be more selective than last year's, so favorites should be sought among classics specialists. Jasper Philipsen (1200), Arnaud de Lie (400), Biniam Girmay (800), Jasper Stuyven (600), Corbin Strong (400), Maxim Van Gils (400), Mike Teunissen (600), Axel Zingle (400), Kasper Asgreen (600), Florian Sénéchal (400), Dries Van Gestel (200), and Anthony Turgis (200) are some of the top favorites.
