CX: The second race in America

The second round of the 2022 - 2023 Cyclocross World Cup takes place this weekend in Fayetteville (Arkansas). Following the inaugural race at Waterloo (Wisconsin) last week, Fayetteville is the second and final race on US soil before the World Cup moves to Europe. Last year, Lucinda Brand (1200) and Quinten Hermans (1200) won the Fayetteville World Cup event, but the Fayetteville circuit also hosted the 2022 Cyclocross World Championships, where Marianne Vos (1200) and Thomas Pidcock (1000) were proclaimed World Champions at the end of January.

Women's Race favorites

Both the men's and women's races feature virtually identical start lists to the Waterloo races, so we should look for the main favorites among those who obtained good results last week. For the women's race, Fem Van Empel (800), Ceilyn del Carmen Alvarado (1200), Lucinda Brand (1200), Denise Betsema (1200) and Annemarie Worst (1000) are the top favorites.

Men's Race Favorites

For the men’s event, Eli Iserbyt (1200), Laurens Sweeck (1000), Lars Van der Haar (1200), Michael Vanthourenthout (1200) and Thibau Nys (200) were the strongest at Waterloo.
