Cyclo-Cross comes home for Christmas

After two consecutive weeks with events in Ireland and Italy, the Cyclo-Cross World Cup returns to its natural location, Belgium, where most of the races are held, and home of many of the discipline's specialists. The races, which are scheduled on Monday the 26th so as not to coincide with Christmas Day, will be held at the classic Gavere circuit, which, although on this occasion becomes part of the World Cup for the first time, is hosting top level races since 1984.

Favorites women’s race

One more week, Fem Van Empel (1200) and Puck Pierterse (1200) head the favorites list. Lucinda Brand (1200), Shirin Van Anrooij (1000), Inge Van Der Heijden (1000), Annnemarie Worst (1000), Kata Blanka Vas (800), Manon Bakker (600), Hélène Clauzel (1000), Clara Honsinger (800), Marie Schreiber (200), Aniek Van Alphen (400), Marion Norbert Riberolle (400) or Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (200) can also ambition good results.

Favorite men's race

Mathieu Van Der Poel (1000), Wout Van Aert (1200) and Thomas Pidcock (1000) start as the three main favorites for the men's race. Michael Vanthourenthout (1200), Laurens Sweeck (1000), Eli Iserbyt (1200) and Lars Van Der Haar (1200) are some other outstanding names on the start list for a race that nobody wants to miss.
