Cyclo-Cross takes the spotlight

Like last year, Cyclo-Cross becomes the main focus on Cycling Fantasy during the winter break of the road cycling season. The Cyclo-Cross World Cup events, held almost every weekend from mid-October to early February, offer an extra for users who want to continue playing during the winter, but without the demand of having to create teams almost daily as is required by the road calendar.

The first stop on the UCI World Cup takes place this Sunday at Trek's headquarters in Waterloo, United States. While not all the European stars will be present, Waterloo will mark the beginning of the race for the world title, and the riders aiming for the annual overall victory won't miss it.

Men's Race: Favorites

The winner of the 2022-2023 UCI World Cup, Laurens Sweeck (1200), has announced that he will not be racing in Waterloo due to injury, so the starting list will be led by Eli Iserbyt (1200), Michael Vanthourenthout (1200), Lars Van Der Haar (1200), and Nils Vandeputte (1000). Other notable cyclocross riders include Toon Vandebosch (800), Joris Nieuwenhuis (600), Daan Soete (800), Ryan Kamp (600), and Thibau Nys (400).

Women's Race: Favorites

Fem Van Empel (1200), Puck Pieterse (1200), Shirin Van Anrooij (1200), and Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (1000) are the top favorites for the women's race. Also vying for top positions are Inge Van Der Heijden (1000), Manon Bakker (800), Clara Honsinger (800), Maghlie Rochette (800), and Zoe Backstedt (400).
