Denmark welcomes a peloton without big stars
Next Wednesday, August 14, the PostNord Tour of Denmark, the most important race in Denmark, begins. This .Pro category race coincides on the calendar with two UCI WorldTour races: the Tour de Pologne and La Vuelta Ciclista a España. As a result, only three WorldTeams and eight ProTeams are participating in the Danish race, meaning this year's event will not feature many world stars.
Route
The race takes place over five stages, from Wednesday to Sunday. The first will be a 13-kilometer team time trial, which will allow us to enjoy a discipline that is used less and less, and will mark the first differences in the overall classification. From here, there are four mostly flat stages without major climbs where bonus seconds at the finishes and in intermediate sprints will be key to deciding the winner of the race.
Favorites
Arnaud De Lie (600), Magnus Cort (800), Andreas Leknessund (600), Matteo Trentin (600), Arvid De Klein (400), Tobias Lund Andresen (400), Soren Kragh Andersen (400), Mikkel Bjerg (400), Alexander Kamp (200), Warren Barguil (400), and Ivo Oliveira (200) are some of the most notable cyclists we can find on the starting list.
