Flemish classics for sprinters

Both Danilith Nokere Koerse and Bredene Koksijde Classic courses are full of cobbled sections, but this has not prevented both races from being resolved in sprint in recent years. The same fate had the first and only edition (2019) of the women's Danilith Nokere Koerse, which also ended in a volata with a victory for Lorena Wiebes (1200).

The startlists are full of sprinters, and this suggests that many teams will be interested in seeing a big peloton reach the finish line. It is common that when this happens and there are many teams working for a sprint, this is the final outcome. The only thing that could break this script would be the weather: if the main peloton breaks due to winfd and rain and some strong team has managed to put their important cyclists in front, the big group behind will have to work hard to chase.

Favorites for Danilith Nokere Koerse women’s race

The start list of the women's race is much better than the men's, and includes some of the main sprinters in the world: Lorena Wiebes (1200) will be in the startline to defend the title, but will have strong competition in the riders of Team DS Worx Jolien D'Hoore (800) and Amy Pieters (1000). Other strong sprinters are the British Alice Barnes (600), the Belgian Lotte Kopecky (800) or the Italians Letizia Paternoster (800), Elisa Balsamo (800) and Marta Bastianelli (800).

Favorites for male races

The two men's races share a large part of their startlists, which include not many big stars but a great number of sprinters: Jasper Philipsen (1000), Mark Cavendish (200), Marc Sarreau (400), Danny Van Poppel (400), Alberto Dainese (200), Edward Theuns (400), Kristoffer Halvorsen (400), Martin Laas (200), Carlos Barbero (200), Jake Steward (200) or Jakub Mareczko (400) are some of the fastest men on paper. Other options to victory if the races were broken and there were no massive sprints could be time trialist Mikkel Bjerg (200) or cyclocross star Thomas Pidcock (200), although it seems an unlikely scenario.
