Indurain's Day
Miguel Indurain was the dominant force in the Tour de France in the early 1990s, winning five consecutive editions of the race and becoming a legend. Thirty years later, his native Navarra continues to honor him by organizing an annual race in his name: the Gran Premio Miguel Indurain, a title given in 1999 to replace the former Gran Premio de Navarra.
Route
The race starts and finishes in the town of Estella, unfolding in its surroundings. Although the course does not feature major mountain passes, it consists of a constant up-and-down terrain typical of the region, with countless "altos" to conquer over a total of 198 km and 3,300 meters of elevation gain.
Favorites
The start list is still in its early stages, but names such as Alex Aranburu (800), Marc Hirschi (800), Daniel Felipe Martínez (600), Ben Healy (600), and Thibau Nys (600) already stand out. However, it is possible to anticipate the participation of other riders, as the race takes place just two days before the start of the Itzulia Basque Country, and many cyclists who compete in the Itzulia often take part in this event as well.
