Italian autumn begins

The small Tuscan town of Peccioli is living a celebration as its race, the Coppa Sabatini - Gran Premio città di Peccioli, reaches its 70th edition this year. The event, which pays homage to local cyclist Giuseppe Sabatini (1915-1951), is the first of the 1.Pro category Italian autumn classics, and therefore also the first to be disputed in Cycling Fantasy. However, the day before, the Giro della Toscana (category 1.1) can give us some clues as to who the fittest cyclists are.

Route

The Coppa Sabatini - Gran Premio città di Peccioli 2022 presents a route similar to that of the 2021 edition, with several laps around Peccioli that include 5 climbs to Montefoscholi (0.8 km at 11.3%), 5 climbs to Terricciola (3.7 km at 3.1%) and 5 more to Muro di Peccioli (0.8 km at 10.4%). The final 12 km circuit, which the cyclists will have to cover 3 times, has the finish line located at the top of the climb to Peccioli (1.4 km at 5.6%).

Favorites

With less than 48 hours to go until the start of the race, there are still many teams to confirm their line-ups. So far, Alexandr Vlasov (1200), Egan Bernal (1000), Alex Aranburu (600), Marc Hirschi (600), Felix Grossschartner (600), Lennard Kämna (600), Quinten Hermans (400), Alessandro Covi (400) and Emmanuel Buchmann (400) are some of the main cyclists on the start list.
