Oman, 3 years later
Last year's edition of the Tour of Oman was suspended due to the global coronavirus pandemic, and the 2020 edition was also not held due to the death of Sultan Qabus bin Said Al Said. So, we had to wait 3 years to finally see the premiere of the race in the ProSeries.
Route
6 stages make up this edition of the Tour of Oman. The first, second and last are flat and seem destined to bunch sprints. Stage three ends with a final climb to Qurayyat (2.8 km at 7%) and is ideal for puncheurs, while stage four includes a circuit with three climbs to Bousher al Amerat (3.6 km at 8.9%) before facing the last 17 kilometers, which are flat. Finally, the queen stage will be the fifth: the final climb to Jabal Al Alkhadhar (the Green Mountain) (6 km at 10%) will undoubtedly be the most decisive moment for the general classification.
Favorites
With 6 days to go before the start of the race, the start list is still at an early stage, so keep an eye on the team line-ups. At the moment, the list of confirmed riders includes Arnaud Demare (1200), Fernando Gaviria (800), Amaury Capiot (400) and Rui Costa (400) as the most famous cyclists.
