Romandy keeps its path in the WWT
Last year saw the inaugural edition of the Tour de Romandie Féminin, which debuted directly as a race in the Women's WorldTour. From the very beginning, the organizers' goal was for the event to establish itself in the highest category of women's world cycling and thus equal the men's Tour de Romandie, which has been held since 1947 and has been part of the UWT since the circuit's creation in 2011. With good television coverage and attracting many of the world's top cyclists, it is certain that in a short time, the Swiss race will become a classic on the top-level women's calendar.
Route
Like last year, the race consists of three stages. The first day features a hilly profile on the local circuit in Yverdon-les-Bains including a couple of climbs, but the peloton can regroup in the last 20 flat kilometers. The next day, the overall classification will likely be decided as the cyclists will face the only mountain stage of this Tour de Romandie Féminin, with climbs to Les Mosse (13.9 km at 4%) and Torgon (10.6 km at 6.6%). Finally, the race finishes with another undulating stage in Nyon that may favor attacking riders.
