After 9 exciting months, the time has come to put the definitive end to the road season. For Cycling Fantasy users, the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race will be the last road team composition of the year, although cycling does not stop. As you know, the incorporation of the complete calendar of the Cyclocross World Cup is available in the application for those who, like some cyclists, want to keep fit during the winter.
As far as the race itself is concerned, the Japan Cup Cycle Road Race is taking place again after two editions canceled due to COVID-19, so it will finally be in 2022 when it debuts as part of the ProSeries. Contested for the first time in 1992, it is one of the most prestigious races in Asia.
Route
The race takes place entirely on the Utsunomiya Forest Park circuit, where the World Championships were held in 1990. The circuit measures just over 10 kilometers and includes the ascent of Mount Kogashiyama (5 km at 3.4%), so good climbing legs are necessary to fight for victory. Cyclists must complete 14 laps of the circuit to total 144 km and 2,530 meters of accumulated climbing.
