Terrain for climbers before the Giro

The Tour of the Alps is one of the most mountainous races of the season. The race, held in the Euroregion that brings together the Austrian state of Tyrol and the Italian autonomous provinces of South Tyrol and Trentino, consists of five stages of medium and high mountains, with no chances for sprinters.

Moreover, its position on the calendar, two weeks before the start of the Giro d’Italia, makes it the perfect testing ground for climbers who will take part in the Italian Grand Tour, as they find in the Tour of the Alps the ideal setting to sharpen their form and prepare for what lies ahead.

Route

As mentioned, the race consists of five stages, all with medium and high mountains profiles, with total positive elevation gains ranging from 2,450 to 4,300 meters, making it a race exclusively for climbers.
