The annual appointment with the citadel of Namur

As every year, the finish line of the Grand Prix de Wallonie is situated at the citadel of Namur, built on top of the hill that rises above the capital of the Walloon region of Belgium. Although the race has been held since 1935, it is part of a second level of Wallon classics, since it is far from the prestige that other races such as Liège-Bastogne-Liège or Flèche Wallonne have.

Route

A large part of the difficulties of the route are concentrated in the vicinity of Namur, in a final circuit where cyclists will have to do two laps and which includes the Côte de Tienne aux Pierres (3,4 km at 4,7%) and the ascent to the citadel (2,2 km at 4,9%), where the finish line is located. However, this year the final ascent will be carried out on the paved road and not on the traditional Route Marveilleuse, so it is possible that more riders than in previous editions can dispute the victory.
