
The cycling elite visits Plouay
This weekend, both the UCI Women’s WorldTour and the UCI Men’s WorldTour will make a stop in the Breton town of Plouay. The Classic Lorient Agglomération - CERATIZIT and the Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France are the elite races that are part of the 4 Jours CIC de Plouay, an event that, from Thursday to Sunday, brings together para-cycling, amateur, junior, and elite competitions in this small French town.
Classic Lorient Agglomération - CERATIZIT: route and favorites
The women’s race takes place on Saturday and features a hilly 163 km course with 1,900 meters of total elevation gain.
Mischa Bredewold (1000) has won the last two editions of the race, which suits her perfectly. Other contenders for victory include her SD Worx - Protime teammates Lotte Kopecky (1200), Blanka Vas (800), and Anna van der Breggen (800), though they will face strong rivals such as Elisa Longo Borghini (1200), Kimberley Le Court (800), Juliette Labous (1000), Liane Lippert (1000), Noemi Rüegg (600), Ally Wollaston (600), Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (800), Silvia Persico (600), Justine Ghekiere (600), Mavi García (800), and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift champion, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot (200).
Bretagne Classic - Ouest-France: route and favorites
Once again, the men’s race covers a monument-worthy distance, this year stretching to 262 km with 3,800 meters of elevation gain.
Marc Hirschi (600), Isaac Del Toro (1000), Biniam Girmay (1000), Wout Van Aert (1200), Tiesj Benoot (400), Arnaud De Lie (800), Alex Aranburu (800), Maxim Van Gils (600), Corbin Strong (600), Romain Grégoire (800), Julian Alaphilippe (600), Pello Bilbao (600), Tim Wellens (600), Tobias Johannessen (600), Jonathan Narváez (600), Thibau Nys (600), Paul Lapeira (400), Alberto Bettiol (400), Aurélien Paret-Peintre (400), and Tibor Del Grosso (200) are among the top contenders for victory in Plouay.
