The great celebration of Dutch women's cycling
The Simac Ladies Tour, formerly known as the Holland Ladies Tour, is the most important women's stage race in the Netherlands. The country, home to many of the best cyclists in the world in recent years, dresses up for six days to host the race, which was first held in 1998 and has been part of the UCI Women’s WorldTour since 2017.
Route
The race consists of six stages, starting with a 10 km time trial that will undoubtedly be important for the outcome of the race. The country's terrain, mostly flat, means that the majority of the road stages will likely end in sprints, except perhaps for the sixth and final stage, which features a rolling circuit in Arnhem in the final part.
Favorites
With two days to go until the race, most teams have not yet confirmed their line-ups. However, several world-class stars already stand out on the start list, including the entire podium of last week's Road World Championships, with Lotte Kopecky (1200), Chloe Dygert (600), and Elisa Longo Borghini (1200). Additionally, sprinters such as Lorena Wiebes (1200), Charlotte Kool (800), and Elisa Balsamo (1000), and time trialists like Riejanne Markus (800) and Ellen Van Dijk (200) are also expected to participate.
