The hills of Luxembourg welcome the ProSeries

Luxembourg is a small Central European country that borders Germany, France and Belgium. Although it is located far from the coast, the country does not have great mountains either, with the highest point being 560 meters above sea level. This is why the work of the organizers has special merit, as they have made the most of the country's orography to present stage profiles full of hills and short climbs.

Route

As we were saying, Luxembourg is not a mountainous land, but nevertheless the terrain allows for stage profiles mined of short but steep climbs. Of the 5 stages that make up this edition of the Skoda Tour Luxembourg, 3 present medium-mountain profiles (stages 1, 3 and 5), and even stage 2, categorized as flat by the organization and being the best opportunity for sprinters, also includes some elevations near the finish line. Finally, the time trial on day four will most likely be decisive for the final GC of the race.

Favorites

Surely, the winner of the Skoda Tour Luxembourg 2022 will be a good time trialist, since the time trial of the fourth day can mark differences that are difficult to make up in the other stages. The best specialists in the discipline on the starting list are presumably Benjamin Thomas (400), Rune Herregodts (200) and Mattias Skelmosje (600).

The rest of the stages are ideal for puncheurs. Rafal Majka (600), Matteo Trentin (600), Davide Ballerini (600), Florian Sénéchal (600), Geoffrey Bouchard (400), Valentin Madouas (400), Markus Hoelgaard (200), Frank Boinnamour (200) or Anton Charming (200) are among the most prominent.
