The Italian fall kicks off with San Luca’s climb

In the cycling world, spring is synonymous with Belgium and the cobbled classics. Similarly, in autumn, the peloton moves to Italy, where a spectacular calendar of classics marks the end of the season. The most important of these races is undoubtedly Il Lombardia, the fifth and final monument of the year, but before and after that, up to 6 category 1.Pro classics (as well as other 1.1 category races) provide exciting races almost daily. The Giro dell'Emilia will be the first of all these events to be contested in Cycling Fantasy, and it is perhaps the one with the most characteristic route, featuring the ascent to the sanctuary of the Madonna of San Luca in Bologna as its main hallmark.

Giro dell'Emilia: Route and Favorites

The men's race covers a route of 205 kilometers with 3003 meters of positive elevation gain, including climbs to Samone (6.1 km at 6.3%) and Monte Monascoso (5.9 km at 7.1%) in the central part of the course. 40 kilometers from the finish, the riders will enter Bologna to tackle the final circuit, which they must complete 4 times and has the finish line at the top of San Luca (2.1 km at 9,4%). The circuit also includes the ascent of Monte Albano (1.2 km at 5.5%).

Tadej Pogačar (1200) and Primož Roglič (1200) lead the start list, with many teams yet to confirm their line-ups. Other notable riders include Adam Yates (1200), Juan Ayuso (1000), Alexandr Vlasov (1000), Jai Hindley (1000), Enric Mas (1000), Giulio Ciccone (1000), Simon Yates (800), Richard Carapaz (800), Felix Gall (800), Julian Alaphilippe (800), Ben O’Connor (600), Pavel Sivakov (600), Andrea Bagioli (600), Michael Woods (600), and Lenny Martinez (200).

Giro dell'Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite: Route and Favorites

Among all the autumn races on the rich Italian men's calendar, only the Giro dell'Emilia and Tre Valli Varesine have also women's races. Since the Tre Valli Varesine Women's Race is a category 1.1 event, Cycling Fantasy will only feature the Giro dell'Emilia Internazionale Donne Elite. This race is particularly important as it is the final event of the women's ProSeries for the year and will determine the 10 .Pro women trophies in the game. The race route covers 104 kilometers, with the first 91 being entirely flat, so everything will be decided on the two ascents to San Luca included in the last 13 kilometers.

The start list for the women's race is almost empty, so it's impossible to identify favorites.
