The last race of the Atomium Trophy
The third Atomium Trophy in the history of Cycling Fantasy, which includes all 1.Pro category races held in Belgium, reaches its final race this Saturday. In total, there have been 10 thrilling one-day races throughout 2024, starting in February with Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne and ending with this Saturday's Super 8 Classic. This abundance of races further proves that one-day races are an intrinsic part of Belgium's cycling culture.
The Super 8 Classic, named after the beer that sponsors the race, has its origins in the amateur race GP Impanis, which paid tribute to Raymond Impanis, winner of Paris-Roubaix and Ronde Van Vlaanderen in 1954, and three stages of the Tour de France.
Course
The race takes place in Flemish Brabant and includes several climbs typical of the area, including a double pass over the cobbled Moskesstraat (0.6 km at 6.9%). In total, 197 kilometers and 1,800 meters of elevation gain promise an open race where both classics riders and sprinters can win.
