The last WWT race will take place in the heart of COVID 19’s second wave
The health situation in Madrid and its surroundings is dramatic, but with only 4 days to go before the start, it seems that the Ceratizit Challenge by la Vuelta will be held, and it will do so in the same way that the Vuelta is being held: without public and with a very closed bubble.
In the female peloton, however, lots of voices warn of the difficulties of maintaining these conditions, since the financial resources are much lower than in the male competitions. Several teams have already announced that they are giving up participating in the Spanish event, and the startlist is still in early stages, although it looks like some top stars such as Annemiek Van Vleuten (1200) and Elisa Longo Borghini (1000) will be there. Attention to the startlist.
Regarding the route, for this 2020 the race increases in one day of competition and will be a 3-day event. The race will start with a mid-mountain stage, which is precisely the novelty of this year, since the time trial on Saturday and the circuit on Sunday are a carbon copy of the 2019 route.
In Cycling Fantasy, this is the last time to choose a team in this very special 2020, and it will finish to define the women's laurels. We take this opportunity to thank you all for having participated, and we invite you to the 2021 season, for which we are preparing important novelties.
