The New European CX Champions

The 2024 road season has ended, but for the third year in a row, Cycling Fantasy presents a small Cyclocross calendar to keep the fun of creating our teams alive during the winter break.

This season, the UEC Cyclo-Cross European Championships will kick off the 2024-2025 cyclocross season in the game, meaning that on the very first day, two prestigious, muddy star-spangled jerseys for the continental champions of the discipline will be up for grabs.

Course

This year’s European Championships will be held in Pontevedra, Spain, on a circuit that annually hosts a Spanish Cup race but will now welcome the most important event in its history.

The course is a fast 3.3 km track featuring three bridges, a sand bank, a set of stairs with 10 steps, and a ramp in the final stretch with a gradient exceeding 20%.

Women's race favorites

The Dutch riders Fem Van Empel (1200), Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (1200), Lucinda Brand (1000), Inge Van Der Heijden (1000), and Denise Betsema (800) are the main favorites. The leading alternative to a Dutch victory could be Italian Sara Casasola (400).

Men’s race favorites

Michael Vanthourenthout (1000), Eli Iserbyt (1200), Laurens Sweeck (1200), Lars Van der Haar (1200), Thibau Nys (600), Pim Ronhaar (800), and local rider Felipe Orts (600) are some of the top contenders for the men's race.
