The oldest race to prepare Sanremo

Milano-Torino is the oldest classic on the current calendar, since it was held for the first time in 1876. However, in 2022 the race celebrates (only) the 103rd edition, since it has not been held continuously since then. The blank years and the constant changes in the dates and the route have meant that Milano-Torino has progressively lost prestige. After a decade of being held in autumn, in this edition the race will be held 3 days before Milano-Sanremo, postulating itself as the ideal preparatory race for the Monument.

Route

After an edition for climbers in 2021, in 2022 the organization presents a route suitable for sprinters, aware that many riders will use it as a test for the Classicisima.

Favorites

48 hours before the start of the race, the start list has not yet been announced, so it is impossible to talk about favorites. Peter Sagan (1000) is the most prominent name of the few men who appear on the start list at the moment.
