The Spanish calendar continues in Burgos
The Vuelta a Burgos Féminas is the fourth race of the professional women's calendar held in Spain consecutively, following La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es, Navarra Women’s Elite Classic, and Itzulia Women. After the Burgos race, the Gran Premio Ciudad de Eibar will still remain, which will close this section of the calendar. The geographical and temporal concentration of all these races facilitates the logistics of the teams and helps to have better participation in all of them.
Regarding La Vuelta a Burgos Féminas strictly, the event reaches its fifth edition this year under the current format of four days of competition, and it is the fourth time that the race is included in the UCI Women’s WorldTour.
Route
The race consists of 4 stages, with two opportunities for sprinters (stages 1 and 3), an explosive finish at Alto de Rosales (2.4 km at 6.5%) (stage 2), and a medium mountain stage (stage 4) where the Alto de Rozavientos (3.5 km at 9.2%) will be decisive for the final general classification.
Favorites
With three days remaining before the start of the race, most teams have not yet published their line-ups, although it is likely that several of the cyclists we have seen in La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es, Navarra Women’s Elite Classic, and Itzulia Women will repeat. At the moment, however, it is impossible to speak about favorites.
