The Tour de Suisse Women debuts in the ProSeries

The Tour de Suisse Women was held for the first time last year, and already in its second edition it has risen in category, becoming part of the ProSeries. The race is located on the calendar just before the Giro d'Italia Donne and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, so many cyclists will use the Swiss race to prepare for the big events, as happens with the men's Tour de Suisse.

Route

The four stages that make up the race present very varied profiles: the first stage is flat and seems ideal for sprinters, the second is a 25-kilometre time trial, the third has a medium-mountain profile ideal for puncheurs, with the top-hill finish in Chur (0.9 km at 5.6%), and the last stage is when the mountain arrives, with the ascent to Davos Wolfgang (10.7 km at 5.5%) and the mountain-top finish in Lantsch (6.8 km at 8%).

Favorites

The general classification will be decided by the individual time trial and the mountain stage. Marlen Reusser (800) runs at home and is the best time trialist on the starting list, but it remains to be seen what she can endure in the mountains. Elise Chabbey (1000), Lianne Lippert (800), Katarzyna Niewiadoma (1000), Anne Santesteban (400), Evita Muzic (600), Erica Magnaldi (400), Sofia Bertizzolo (800) and Marta Bastianelli (800) may also have the intention to fight for the general classification.
