The women's Nokere Koerse equals the prizes of the men’s race

The organization of the Danilith Nokere Koerse announced last November that for the 2022 edition it would match the prize pool for the women's race to that distributed for the men's race. This move, pioneer in the world of cycling, triples the prizes of the 2021 edition of the women's race, which goes from distributing 5,130 euros to 18,800 euros, and the race becomes the one-day event in which the most money is distributed throughout the women's calendar.

Route

Both the women's and men's races have routes full of cobbled sectors. Although without great climbs, both races are difficult to control by the sprinters teams and are usually decided in selected groups or solo attacks.

Women's race favorites

Marianne Vos (1200), Lorena Wiebes (1200), Lotte Kopecky (1000), Marlen Reusser (600), Grace Brown (800), Marta Bastianelli (800), Alice Barnes (600), Chloe Hosking (600), Chiara Consonni (600), Loneke Uneken (400) or Maria Giulia Confalonieri (600) are some of the favorites for victory. A list full of stars, perhaps attracted by the big prizes.

Men's race favorites

The starting list for the men's race does not present anywhere near the same level as that of the women's race. The main names that will take the start are Pascal Ackermann (1000), Tim Merlier (800), Jon Aberasturi (600), Hugo Hoffstetter (400) and the Uno-X Pro Cycling Team duo formed by Rasmus Tiller (400) and Kristoffer Halvorsen (400).
