The women's ProSeries start in Valencia
La Setmana Ciclista - Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana will be the inaugural race of the 2023 women's UCI ProSeries. This Valencian event, which celebrates its seventh edition, becomes part of the second division of world cycling on this occasion, and year after year, makes steps towards becoming one of the most important races on the Spanish women's calendar.
The route
The race is made up of 4 stages. The first two seem the most suitable for sprinters, while the general classification will be decided in the queen mountain stage on day 3 and in the hilly route of the last stage of the race.
The favorites
The winner of the last two editions of the race, Annemiek Van Vleuten (1200), starts as top favorite once again, and will be looking for a third consecutive victory. Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (1000), Juliette Labous (1000), Cecile Uttrup Ludwig (1000), Evita Muzic (800), Mavi García (800), Gaia Realini (200), Clara Koppenburg (200) and Amanda Spratt (400), are some of the main GC alternatives.
For the first two stages, which will possibly bring the riders to a bunch sprint finale, Elisa Balsamo (1000), Sofia Bertizzolo (600), Shari Bossuyt (600), Arlenis Sierra (600), Coryn Rivera (600), Marta Lach (400), Tamara Dronova (600), Alison Jackson (800) and Sandra Alonso (200) are amongst the fastest.
