The World Championships close the cyclo-cross season

The UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships bring the cyclo-cross season to a close, the first to be played in Cycling Fantasy history. The two gorgeous muddy rainbow jerseys are the discipline's last two trophies up for grabs until next winter, and can bring changes the cyclo-cross overall rankings on the app.

The circuit

The Hoogerheide circuit, which will host the 2023 World Championships, presents a twisty route with quite a lot of climbing. Also known as GP Adrie Van Der Poel after the Dutch superstar (and father of Mathieu Van Der Poel), Hoogerheide has hosted World Cup races since 2005, for what is considered the most important Dutch circuit on the calendar.

The favorites for the women’s race

Puck Pieterse (1200) and Fem Van Empel (1200) are the two big favorites for the women's elite race, since Shirin Van Anrooij (1200) has confirmed that she will take part in the Under 23 event. Silvia Persico (800), Lucinda Brand (1200), Denise Betsema (1200), Ceylin Del Carmen Alvarado (1000), Inge Van Der Heijden (1000) or Kata Blanka Vas (1000) should also compete for top 10 spots.

The favorites for the men’s race

Wout Van Aert (1200) and Mathieu Van Der Poel (1200) are the two great favorites to win the elite men's race, where the reigning champion Thomas Pidcock (1200) will not participate. Laurens Sweeck (1200), Eli Iserbyt (1200), Michael Vanthourenthout (1200) and Lars Van Der Haar (1200) are other important names on the startlist.
