Third stop of the ProSeries in Italy

GP Industria & Artigianato will be the third 1.Pro category race to be held in Italy in 2022, after Trofeo Laigueglia and Milano-Torino. The race, which takes place in the Tuscan town of Larciano, has traditionally been dominated by Italian cyclists, who have accumulated 32 victories since the first edition for professionals in 1977. However, since Mauro Santambrogio's triumph in 2013 we have not seen a local victory.

Route

The route remains faithful to tradition and is a carbon copy of the last editions. First, the cyclists must complete 4 laps on a 13 km flat circuit. Once completed, the route passes to the second circuit, this one 28 km long, where 4 more laps will be run. This second circuit includes the climb to San Baronto (8.6 km at 3.5%), so we are facing a race for climbers and cyclists gifted for the Ardennes classics.

Favorites

UAE Team Emirates presents a very strong team with 5 candidates for victory: Diego Ulissi (1000), Alessandro Covi (400), Marc Hirschi (800), Jan Polanc (200) and Davide Formolo (400), so they will play with clear numerical advantage. The Italian national team also participates in the race, with Andrea Vendrame (600) and Lorenzo Rota (400) as its two leaders. At Bora-Hansgrohe, Maximilian Schachmann (1000) will presumably be the only leader, as Felix Grossschartner (600) seems far from his best version. Vincenzo Nibali (600), Gianluca Brambilla (200), Xandro Meurisse (200) and Filippo Zana (200) are other cyclists who can go for the win.
