Turkey returns to the ProSeries

The Presidential Cycling Tour of Türkiye was downgraded in 2023 when it went from being part of the ProSeries to a 2.1 race, the third division of world cycling. A year later, the race returns to its previous status and ascends again as a 2.Pro race, although this hasn't meant that the starting list is much better than last year. This time, 4 UCI WorldTeams and 9 UCI ProTeams will be present in the race, where the most renowned cyclists are sprinters like Fabio Jakobsen (800), Sam Welsford (400), Danny Van Poppel (600), Max Kanter (400), Orluis Aular (200), George Jackson (200), Attilio Viviani (200), Tobias Andresen (200), Davide Ballerini (400), Jakub Mareczko (200), and Timothy Dupont (200).

Route

The race consists of 8 stages. Only stage 6 presents a mountain profile, and most likely, the general classification will be decided in the finish in Manisa (14 km at 7.1%). The rest of the days are flat or undulating, so we will probably see 5 or 6 sprints, justifying the presence of several good sprinters.

Favorites

As we were saying, the main names present in the starting list are sprinters such as Fabio Jakobsen (800), Sam Welsford (400), Danny Van Poppel (600), George Jackson (200), Max Kanter (400), Orluis Aular (200), Tobias Andresen (200), Davide Ballerini (400), Jakub Mareczko (200), or Timothy Dupont (200), who will be seeking victories in the flat stages.

For the general classification, the list of climbers includes Jefferson Cepeda (200), Mark Donovan (200), Vadim Proskiy (200), Merhawi Kudus (200), Victor Langelotti (200), Attilio Viviani (200), James Whelan (200), Samuele Zoccarato (200), and Valerio Conti (200) as some of the main names.
