Valencia is approaching with an uncertain startlist

The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana reaches its 72nd edition this year an it does so with a change of dates, since it was originally supposed to be held in February. This will be the second edition of the race to be part of the ProSeries, after last year’s edition won by who would end up being the Tour de France champion, Tadej Pogačar (1200).

Route

Five stages make up this edition of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. The first has a mid-mountain profile and seems ideal for the break, although the last climb is not very hard and is crowned 42 kilometers from the finish line. The second stage will presumably be resolved by sprinting, while the third will undoubtedly be decisive for the general classification, with the finish line at Alto de la Reina (7.4 km at 5.1%). The fourth stage is a 14-kilometer individual time trial that will settle the general classification. Finally, the fifth stasge is short and flat, and it seems designed for another sprint on the streets of Valencia.

Favorites

Only two days before the start of the race, the start list is still in very, very early stages, and it is impossible to predict anything. We will have to be attentive to the registrations, as only the Movistar Team has confirmed its line-up, with Enric Mas (800) as their man for the general classification.
