Race analysis, favourites, and predictions for Copenhagen Sprint 2025

This weekend, a new race called the Copenhagen Sprint makes its debut on the international calendar. It's a sprinter's test on the streets of the Danish capital, launching directly as a UCI WorldTour event for both the women's race on Saturday and the men's race on Sunday.

Women's Race: Route and Favorites

The women's race covers a total of 151 km, with the last 33 km consisting of three laps on an 11 km local circuit in Copenhagen. The total positive elevation gain throughout the day is 680 meters.

Looking at the route and even the name of the race, anything other than a sprint finish would be a surprise. Lorena Wiebes (1200), Elisa Balsamo (1000), Charlotte Kool (1000), Pfeiffer Georgi (600), Clara Copponi (400), Daria Pikulik (200), Lara Gillespie (200), Sofia Bertizzolo (400), Susanne Andersen (200), Blanka Vas (800), Mylene De Zoete (200), Rachele Barbieri (400), Emma Norsgaard (400), and Georgia Baker (200) are the main favorites.

Men's Race: Route and Favorites

On Sunday, the men will face a long day, covering 235 km, with over 1000 meters of elevation gain in total. After a 180 km route from Roskilde to Copenhagen, they will complete five laps of the same 11 km circuit used in the women's race the day before.

Mads Pedersen (1200), Olav Kooij (1000), Dylan Groenewegen (600), Phil Bauhaus (800), Sam Welsford (400), Pascal Ackermann (600), Milan Fretin (400), Giovanni Lonardi (400), Soren Waerenskjold (600), Luca Mozzato (400), Matteo Moschetti (400), Elia Viviani (200), Emilien Jeannière (400), and Jake Stewart (200) are some of the fastest on paper.
