Race analysis, favourites, and predictions for CX World Cup Waterloo ME 2022

Next Sunday, October 9, the 2022-2023 Cyclo-Cross World Cup opens in Waterloo (USA). This, for Cycling Fantasy, means the opening of a new chapter in our history, since Waterloo will also be the first cyclo-cross race to be contested in the application. Throughout the winter, two races each weekend (one for men and one for women) will help make the long winter more bearable for all cycling addicts, although it will also force us to study a little, since many of us do not know much about the discipline.

To make this great novelty even more epic, we have designed new medals and diplomas, which appear muddy, and two new combined trophies (CX Men and CX Women) are also released, in this case represented by a wheel equipped with cyclo-cross tires.

Women's Race Favorites

The winner of the last edition of the Cyclo-Cross World Cup, Lucinda Brand (1200), starts as the main favorite for victory. Other strong candidates are Denise Betsema (1200), Fem Van Empel (800), Annemarie Worst (1000), Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado (1000) and Clara Honsinger (1200).

Men's Race Favorites

As in the case of the women's race, the winner of the 2021-2022 Cyclo-Cross World Cup, Eli Iserbyt (1200), will also be in Waterloo to start scoring points with the intention of defending the title. Other contenders to start the World Cup with a victory are Michael Vanthourenthout (1200), Lars Van der Haar (1200), Laurens Sweeck (1000), Daan Soete (1000), Toon Vandebosch (1000), Vincent Baestaens (800) and Niels Vandeputte (800).
