Race analysis, favourites, and predictions for Milano - Torino 2025

Milano-Torino is the oldest cycling race in the world still being held, with its first edition dating back to 1878, the same year the pedal bicycle was invented. However, in 2025 it will reach 'only' its 106th edition, as throughout its history, it has faced several interruptions. Therefore, despite its prestige, it is not part of the UCI WorldTour calendar.

Unlike other races, Milano-Torino often changes its route from year to year, which has led to winners with very different profiles in recent editions, such as Alberto Bettiol (400) (2024), Arvid De Kleijn (600) (2023), Mark Cavendish (2022), Primož Roglič (2021) (2021), or Arnaud Démare (400) (2020).

Route

The race covers a total of 173 km and 1,400 meters of total elevation gain. In 2025, it will once again feature a double ascent of Superga (4.2 km at 9.1%) in the final loop, making this edition one clearly suited for climbers.

Favorites

With just two days to go, the start list includes barely a dozen riders, making it impossible to predict favorites.
