Race analysis, favourites, and predictions for Simac Ladies Tour 2025
The Simac Ladies Tour, the most important women’s stage race in the Netherlands, is one of the longest-running competitions in women’s cycling, celebrating its 27th edition this year. The race, part of the Women’s WorldTour, the top tier of world cycling, takes place on the almost entirely flat terrain that characterises the Netherlands, making it an ideal setting for sprinters.
Route
The race consists of six stages, highlighted by a 10 km individual time trial on the fifth day. Although the second stage is the most undulating, the five road stages never exceed 1,000 metres of elevation gain, which should pose no real problem for the sprinters. Time bonuses of 10, 6, and 4 seconds for the top three finishers in these five stages are expected to be decisive.
Favorites
Two days before the start of the race, the start list is still almost empty, so it is too early to talk about clear favourites. However, the presence of Lorena Wiebes (1200) on the short provisional list makes her the main contender, regardless of her rivals. We’ll need to keep a close eye on the start list so we can build our team at short notice.
