Race analysis, favourites, and predictions for Sparkassen Münsterland Giro 2024

The Sparkassen Münsterland Giro is one of the most important races in Germany and one of the main events for sprinters at the end of the season. At this time, Italy is the country hosting the largest number of races, but most of them feature hilly or mid-mountain profiles, so sprinters find the German race one of the last chances to raise their arms in European territory.

Course

The course of this edition totals 203 kilometers and 1053 meters of positive elevation. Last year, Per Strand Hagenes (200) managed to escape the sprint with an attack from the lead group in the final kilometers, but even with this precedent, the most likely outcome is a sprint finish, as many teams bring their fastest men and will work to ensure this outcome.

Favorites

Olav Kooij (1000), Jasper Philipsen (1200), Dylan Groenewegen (800), Biniam Girmay (1000), Jonathan Milan (1000), Pascal Ackermann (600), Jordi Meeus (600), Arnaud De Lie (800), Arnaud Demare (400), Soren Waerenskjold (600), Stanislaw Aniolkowski (400), Milan Menten (400), Jason Tesson (200), or Max Walscheid (200) are some of the best sprinters listed at the start.
